Privacy Policy

Monrovia Residents Directory collects little information of its own. This policy explains what may arrive through a message or ordinary server log, how that information is used, and which requests must instead go to a public-record custodian in California or Los Angeles County.

Information You Send

Text entered in a name, phone, or address search is sent to the third-party provider that supplies the results; Monrovia Residents Directory does not keep a copy of those search terms on its own servers. If you email or otherwise contact the operator, the message contains the information you choose to provide, which is used to answer the request.

Routine Server Information

Hosting systems may record an IP address, browser type, pages requested, and time stamps. Those ordinary logs are reviewed in aggregate for stability, error checks, and page use. Cookies or similar tools may support basic analytics or advertising measurement if the hosting and search providers use them.

How Limited Data Is Used

Information is used to operate the reference, answer messages, diagnose technical faults, measure broad traffic, and improve the records pages. The operator does not sell visitor lists or build a personal profile for each reader.

External Portals and Links

Pages link to Los Angeles County portals, California agencies, the Monrovia library and museum collections, archives, and third-party search tools. Any information submitted after leaving the directory is governed by the destination’s own policy. Sponsored results are provided by another company, not by the public offices described in the local records pages.

Who Processes Log Data

Hosting and technical service providers may handle server logs while keeping the pages available. Analytics or advertising partners may receive the routine automatic data described above. Information may also be disclosed when valid legal process requires it; it is not disclosed for unrelated purposes.

Security and Retention

The pages use an encrypted connection, and logs are retained only for the operational purposes described here. There are no user accounts, passwords, or personal profiles maintained by Monrovia Residents Directory for a reader to access.

Readers Under 18

The reference is intended for adults and is not directed to children. The operator does not knowingly collect personal information from someone under 18. If a parent or guardian believes a minor sent information, the Contact page can be used to request review and deletion.

California Privacy Choices

California’s Consumer Privacy Act, as amended by the California Privacy Rights Act, can give eligible consumers rights to know, correct, delete, opt out of sale or sharing, limit certain sensitive-information uses, and avoid discriminatory treatment. Those rights apply to covered businesses and the data they control. Monrovia Residents Directory keeps very little, so a request normally involves checking the contact mailbox and relevant logs. Requests about a deed, court file, assessment roll, voter registration, or other legally retained public record must go to the custodian, not the directory.

California’s Delete Act created DROP, a single deletion mechanism for personal information held by registered data brokers. The California Privacy Protection Agency’s regulations took effect January 1, 2026. DROP does not order the Los Angeles County Recorder, court, Assessor, or elections office to erase a record required by law.

Changes to This Notice

If the handling described here changes, a revised policy will be posted on this page. Continued use after the revision date indicates acceptance of the updated wording.
